Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to drive the healthcare data platform modernization. This remote role focuses on migrating an MSSQL XML store to a cloud-native AWS architecture and enabling SQL-based reporting for stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will design data storage patterns, build a robust data catalog, and optimize query performance and cost across AWS services, working with a C#/.Net backend team and IaC tooling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus.
• Experience migrating cloud data platforms in production.
• Ability to select AWS data services to meet reporting needs.
• Proven analytics/reporting delivery for non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of a healthcare data platform.
