Deckers Brands in Goleta, California (Remote) seeks a Data Engineering Lead to set technical standards, lead data engineering design and delivery, and ensure reliable, scalable data products that power agile business decisions across finance, sales, supply chain and product teams.

You will supervise distributed engineers and external partners, enforce CI/CD and coding standards, design analytics-ready data models with dbt, and partner with data architecture, security and cloud teams to optimize

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years building enterprise-grade data platforms and models.
• 3+ years leading data engineering delivery with design reviews.
• Hands-on experience with dbt in production (model design, testing, CI/CD).
• Strong SQL and Python skills with Airflow familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership for data engineering design and delivery.
• Enforce coding standards and review gates before significant work begins.
• Own engineering standards for model design, CI/CD, testing, and deployment.
• Lead analytics-ready data models and transformation layers using dbt.
• Build and operate AWS-based ingestion and delivery pipelines with reliability.
• Establish reusable data engineering patterns across teams.
• Coach and develop data engineers and analytics engineers.
• Drive data quality, lineage, and automated testing practices.
