Job summary

Deckers Brands is seeking a Sr. Manager, Analytics & BI Engineering to own the semantic layer and govern enterprise metric definitions. You will lead analytics engineers and a remote/on-site delivery bench, driving quality and scalable reporting across the organization.

You will set engineering standards, mentor teams, and partner with data governance to translate business needs into actionable metrics, all while guiding cross-functional data product teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience building enterprise metrics, reporting, and BI solutions.
• 3–5+ years leading analytics engineering, BI engineering, or reporting teams.
• Experience owning an enterprise reporting platform (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Qlik).
• Experience with semantic layer or OLAP modeling technologies (AtScale, LookML, dbt, Analysis Services).
• Experience directing external delivery partners or contractor benches.
• Experience leading analytics teams serving business functions and translating questions into metrics.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS) and dbt-modeled data.
• Deep expertise in dimensional and semantic modeling, SQL, and BI languages (DAX/MDX).
• Strong understanding of enterprise BI platform architecture, governance, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Own the semantic layer as the engineered source of enterprise metric definitions and enforce consistency across assets.
• Implement metric definitions set by data governance and resolve conflicting definitions across brands and functions.
• Own metric and report quality, including reconciliation to source of truth and certification criteria.
• Lead analytics engineers, BI developers, and analysts through coaching and career development.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for metrics, reporting, and data products.
• Manage workspace structure, datasets, and security model for the reporting platform.
• Build reusable semantic models and reporting delivery patterns for scalable output.
• Direct external delivery bench with capacity planning and quality management.
