Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is hiring an Application Engineer for Data Centers, operating remotely with hybrid ties to Michigan. You will serve as the technical voice for data-center customers, managing design-in, qualification, and field rollout of SEF fasteners and automation.

Expect up to 50% travel and close collaboration with Sales, Product Management and Engineering. You’ll own customer-facing technical relationships with hyperscalers, EPCs and OEMs, building evidence-based solutions and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in application engineering, field engineering, or technical sales of fasteners or engineered components.
• Experience selling or specifying data center projects – construction, electrical, or infrastructure.
• Reading drawings and specifications; 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• Program management skills to run multiple projects to schedule.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for analysis, reporting, and presentations.
• Self-directed remote operator with multi-project territory and heavy travel.

Responsibilities

• Design-in and specification at design development stage; secure SEF joints in OEM drawings and master specs.
• Lead joint development, trials and validation with customers and provide technical evidence.
• Become SEF's internal authority on data center codes, standards, and practices.
• Collaborate across SEF functions and Sales to feed voice-of-customer insights.
• Deliver SEF solutions via samples, mock-ups and live demos to prove benefits like speed and reliability.
• Own technical escalations and develop action plans for field issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management and marketing as one team.
• Maintain competitive positioning with evidence-based comparisons.
• Publish a current data center application and standards playbook for AE team use.
