Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer for Data Centers.

This role, based remotely with hybrid support to Troy, MI, serves as the technical voice of the customer for hyperscalers, EPCs and OEMs. You will own the customer relationship, lead design reviews, trials and field rollout, and coordinate across SEF and the wider enterprise to ensure optimal fastener and automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years in application engineering, field engineering, or technical sales of fasteners
• Experience selling or specifying data center projects (construction, electrical, infrastructure)
• Knowledge of mechanical joint design, fastener selection, torque/tension, corrosion and vibration
• 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Program management skills—handle multiple projects to schedule across cross-functional teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for analysis and customer-facing presentations

Responsibilities

• Lead application reviews, trials and validation with customers.
• Provide technical evidence to support design-in decisions.
• Feed voice-of-customer insights to Sales, Product Management, Engineering and Marketing.
• Develop samples, demos and field demonstrations to show joint functionality.
• Own technical escalations on active projects and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Collaborate with SEF and broader teams to transfer plays to other verticals.
• Maintain an up-to-date data center playbook for the AE team.
