Job summary

Land O’Lakes is seeking a Lifestyle/Livestock Product Specialist to focus on dairy feed sales within the Mineral Point, WI region. This remote, field-based role involves calling on cattle, horse, and small ruminant owners and partnering with local co-ops to grow market share and support nutritional programs.

You will conduct on-farm visits, lead educational meetings for 4H and related clubs, and develop new prospects while meeting sales targets.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field; candidates without degree may be considered with sales/industry experience.
Ability to make nutritional and feeding recommendations to the market.
Understanding of animal husbandry, management practices, and nutritional guidelines, dairy knowledge.
Competent in providing accurate feeding and management recommendations.
Strong computer skills and ability to be trained on HerdSmart, Salesforce, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Call on cattle, horse and small ruminant owners to evaluate feeding programs.
Sell at farm gate up to 25 farm calls per week to grow sales and market share.
Organize educational meetings for 4H clubs, saddle clubs, vets, trainers and lifestyle show clubs to enhance Purina’s brand and store traffic.
Travel up to 15% overnight travel in the territory.
Develop new prospects and make sales cold calls.
