Job summary

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Instructional Technology Support Specialist for a higher education client. This is a remote, full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for a faculty-focused educational technology professional with hands-on D2L Brightspace experience.

You will provide day-to-day faculty support, troubleshoot Brightspace issues, and guide faculty in using Brightspace tools to support teaching and course management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, educational technology, instructional design, information technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with D2L Brightspace.
• Ability to navigate, build, maintain, and troubleshoot Brightspace courses.
• Experience supporting faculty with Brightspace questions and course-level issues.
• Experience configuring Brightspace groups, gradebooks, release conditions, completion settings, dates, and course settings.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to faculty using D2L Brightspace and other educational technologies.
• Respond to faculty questions and troubleshoot Brightspace issues at course level.
• Guide faculty in using Brightspace tools to support teaching and course management.
• Lead consultations, office hours, workshops, and technology training for faculty.
• Create and update job aids, tutorials, FAQs, and knowledge-base content.
• Maintain the Faculty Success Hub and related content.
• Communicate LMS updates, new features, known issues, and best practices.
• Build and maintain Brightspace courses using approved design documentation.
• Configure groups, gradebooks, release conditions, completion settings, and dates.
• Escalate issues to LMS admin, instructional designer, IT, or vendor as needed.
• Collaborate with instructional designers and LMS admins to address recurring needs.
