Job summary

MediaNews Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to protect its systems, networks, and data in a remote-capable role based in Massachusetts. You will monitor security events, perform threat analysis, and lead incident response with IT operations and development teams.

The role includes vulnerability management, security metrics, and ongoing education/training for users. Experience with SIEM/EDR, Windows/Linux/macOS, and cloud security is preferred; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer science, information assurance, MIS or related field, or an Associate’s degree with IT security specialization or equivalent experience with relevant certifications.
• 1–3 years of cybersecurity experience or related desktop support, networking or system administration.

Responsibilities

• Protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats and monitor security access.
• Perform threat analysis, incident response, and rapid containment of events.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and track remediation efforts.
• Maintain risk and threat metrics and generate investigation reports.
• Administer core security technologies and ensure optimal configuration.
