MediaNews Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to protect our systems, networks, and data from threats. You will monitor access, analyze threats, manage incidents, and coordinate with IT operations and development teams to implement preventative measures.

Responsibilities include vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR operations, and clear incident documentation. This role offers a remote arrangement with residency in CO, FL, MA, MN, OH, PA, or TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with IT security focus; certifications encouraged.
• 1–3 years in cybersecurity or related IT roles (desktop support, networks, systems).
• Ability to work with security platforms and communicate findings clearly.

Responsabilités

• Protect systems, networks, and data from threats; monitor access and incidents.
• Respond to security events with rapid triage, containment, and documentation.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking.
• Produce security reports and metrics on posture; stay current with standards.
• Collaborate with IT operations and development teams on preventative measures.
• Leverage LLM technologies to assist daily analysis and workflows.
• Understand network protocols and cloud security best practices.
• Maintain configurations of core security technologies.
• Provide user education and security training.
• Assist in security incident reporting and post-incident reviews.
• Operate and monitor SIEM for log aggregation and analysis.
• Deploy and monitor endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
