Job summary

MediaNews Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for a remote role across the United States. The position involves protecting systems, networks, and data, monitoring access, triaging threats, and leading incident response efforts.

You will perform regular vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation, and develop security metrics while staying compliant with industry standards. Strong cross-functional collaboration and effective communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT security or related field.
• 1–3 years of cybersecurity experience or relevant IT support experience.
• Experience with security incident response and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Protect the organization's systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
• Monitor security access and perform threat analysis.
• Lead or assist in incident response and remediation.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and prioritize remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain risk and threat metrics and provide reports when needed.
• Maintain core security technologies and ensure optimal configuration.
• Generate security metrics and reports on the security posture.
• Educate users on security best practices and awareness.
