Job summary

Central Garden & Pet in Boise, ID is seeking a Customer Order Specialist to join our Central Service Center. This remote role is essential for the Customer Order Team, driving standardization and efficiency in order entry and delivery.

You will process orders via telephone, fax, EDI, or email, resolve inquiries, and work with SAP and other systems. Collaborate with Distribution, Credit, AR, and Sales & Operations Planning to ensure on-time shipments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-product Customer Service experience and/or previous sales experience.
• Experience working with large customer base and high volume of transactions.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Products is necessary (Excel, Outlook).
• Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, AS400, A+.

Responsibilities

• Resolves customer inquiries by utilizing SAP and departmental resources.
• Develops and maintains documentation on all assigned customers/business units/locations.
• Researches and works across functional areas to identify and resolve order accuracy, product availability, and order timeliness.
• Processes standard orders received by customer or field sales (via telephone, fax, EDI, e-mail) including ensuring the invoicing of shipments in a timely and efficient manner.
• Processes EDI orders, resolving any errors on both the inbound order, and outbound subsequent documents.
• Communicates effectively with distribution facilities to ensure on-time shipment and delivery of customer orders, thus maintaining appropriate service levels.
• Works with internal teams to include Distribution, Credit, Accounts Receivable, Sales & Operations Planning.
• Delivers on defined operational goals and development plans, keeping Supervisor informed on progress.
• Supports RE025 SOX Audit control with weekly performance of self- and partner- order audits.
• Performs other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Order Management team.
