Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a passionate Social Impact & Community Relations Intern to support building relationships with local communities and advancing our social responsibility. This remote internship runs May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027, with up to 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday during business hours.

The role offers hands-on program development, stakeholder engagement, event planning, and impact reporting experience.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or a related field with junior or senior standing.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing community outreach programs and volunteer events.
• Support partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, and civic organizations.
• Help track and report on social impact metrics and outcomes.
• Contribute to internal and external communications related to select initiatives.
• Conduct research on social issues, community needs, and best practices.
• Assist with grant applications, sponsorship requests, and donation tracking.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for new initiatives.
• Gain experience in community engagement and CSR strategy.
• Develop skills in event planning, stakeholder communication, and impact reporting.
• Understand the role of businesses in driving social change.
• Build professional relationships and receive mentorship from experienced leaders.
• Contribute to initiatives that make a real difference in the community.
