Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Social Impact & Community Relations Intern to support community engagement and social responsibility efforts. The role offers hands-on experience in program development, stakeholder engagement, event planning, and impact reporting.

You will assist with outreach, partnerships, and reporting while gaining mentorship from experienced leaders within a large national health system. This remote internship runs May 31, 2027 through August 6, 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as a junior or senior in a related field (Public Relations, Communications, Social Work, nonprofit management, etc.).
• GPA 2.5 or higher.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to finish tasks.
• Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with Excel and basic computer skills.
• Demonstrates integrity, dependability, and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Plan and support community outreach programs and volunteer events.
• Support partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, and civic orgs.
• Track and report social impact metrics and outcomes.
• Assist with grant applications, sponsorship requests, and donations tracking.
• Contribute to internal and external communications for initiatives.
• Conduct research on social issues and community needs.
• Participate in team meetings and share ideas for new initiatives.
• Gain experience in CSR strategy and stakeholder engagement.
