Common Ground is seeking a Crisis Specialist to work remotely, providing crisis support via calls, text, and chat through the National Suicide Prevention helpline and 988 helpline. The role emphasizes compassionate de-escalation, rapid information sharing, and collaboration with emergency services as needed.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months in mental health/crisis services, plus a private HIPAA-compliant home workspace and internet access.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6 months of work or volunteer experience in a mental health/crisis services field, or equivalent education/training.
• At-home high speed internet on a private network.
• A private, HIPAA compliant, dedicated office space.

Responsabilités

• Provide crisis support to individuals contacting the National Suicide Prevention helpline and 988 helpline.
• Login to helpline applications and respond to incoming contacts via calls, text, and chat.
• Offer information on available resources like shelters, food pantries, and mental health services.
• Employ de-escalation techniques to assist individuals in crisis and coordinate with EMS or police as needed.
• Document interactions accurately in required systems and conduct follow-ups for service access.
• Collaborate with Shift Supervisors and other crisis line staff and maintain confidentiality.
