Common Ground is seeking a Peer Warmline Specialist to provide remote peer support on a full-time or part-time basis. The role emphasizes confidentiality, empathy, and resource connections for callers in crisis, working from a private home workspace.

The position requires a MDHHS certified peer specialist and at least one year of related paid experience, plus residency in Michigan and a private HIPAA-compliant setup.

Qualifications

• Permanent year-round Michigan residency.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• MDHHS Certified Peer Support Specialist.
• Minimum 1 year paid work experience as a MDHHS Peer Support Specialist.
• At-home high speed internet on a private network.
• A private, HIPAA compliant, dedicated office space.

Responsibilities

• Login to helpline applications.
• Accept incoming calls, chats and/or texts.
• Support callers to develop coping skills and wellness plans.
• Connect callers to the MiCAL crisis line as needed.
• Provide information on resources (shelters, food pantries, services).
• Document each encounter while in-call.
• Communicate with Shift Supervisor and MiCAL staff for support.
• Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned.
