Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Crisis & Referral Specialist to screen, assess, and provide telephonic intervention for helpline callers using established protocols to determine immediate action. This role supports a 24/7 call center with in-person training sessions and hybrid/virtual options.

The position requires a HS diploma with 1 year of behavioral health experience or 6 months crisis experience; preferred BS/BA in mental health with two years of related work.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent and 1 year in behavioral health or 6 months crisis experience
• BS/BA in a mental health or human services field with two years direct behavioral health experience preferred
• Call Center experience and crisis experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Takes inbound calls from individuals needing support, services, or who may be in crisis.
• Performs safety screenings and assessments to discern risk level.
• Uses caller information to understand needs and develop a plan of action with the individual.
• Completes timely, accurate documentation of interactions.
• Provides linkage follow-up to ensure service access.
• Coordinates with agencies and resources to optimize support.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and regulations.
