Job summary

Border States, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Cost Analyst to support cost management strategies for open market business. The role focuses on cost competitiveness, SPA rationalization, and identifying savings opportunities.

Remote work option with pay range $64,300-$80,000. Strong analytical skills and SAP/MM experience are preferred; APICS certification is a plus. Bachelor's degree required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
• No minimum years of prior experience; relevant experience in procurement, pricing, or supply chain is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SAP materials management system and forecasting is preferred.
• APICS certification or proven knowledge of MRP and supply-chain knowledge preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint), internet, email, and SAP software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews key product categories/vendors by branch, area or region to determine cost competitiveness and establish cost confidence.
• Engages branch/regional personnel and key stakeholders during category evaluations.
• Evaluates market conditions, vendor/category alignment, and strategies.
• Works to understand current cost structures (SPAs, regional vs branch, backside vendor programs).
• Captures local market feedback to complete competitive analyses.
• Uses data and analytics to gather pricing intelligence.
• Presents findings and recommendations to stakeholders and implements agreed results.
• Resolves pricing with vendors as needed.
• Identifies opportunities to manage costs and improve pricing.
• Analyzes cost differences across locations, regions, and customer types.
