Job summary

Gilder Search Group seeks a ground-floor Corporate Controller for a nascent national platform in residential services. This remote role (East Coast hours preferred) will build the finance function from scratch, including chart of accounts, close, reporting cadence, and internal controls, while consolidating multi-entity results for founders and investors.

Ideal candidates have 8–10+ years in accounting/finance, 5+ years on acquisitive platforms, PE experience, and ERP familiarity (Sage Intacct,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Hands-on experience integrating acquired businesses onto shared financial systems.
• Experience in residential services/trades vertical (HVAC, plumbing, roofing, pest control, etc.).
• 8-10+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• 5+ years in acquisitive, multi-entity platform.
• Background at a private equity-backed platform.
• Track record supporting M&A due diligence and integration planning.
• Plus: Sage Intacct, ServiceTitan, ADP experience.
• Plus: migrating acquired business to an enterprise platform.

Responsibilities

• Build the company's financial infrastructure from scratch: chart of accounts, close process, reporting cadence, internal controls.
• Lead financial integration of each acquired business onto platform-level systems.
• Own monthly and quarterly consolidated reporting across all entities for the founders and investors.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital across a multi-entity structure.
• Partner directly with the founders on acquisition financial due diligence and post-close integration planning.
• Help select and stand up platform-level financial systems as the company scales.
• Build, and eventually lead, a small accounting/finance team.
