Job summary

Bell & Associates, Inc. is seeking a strategic Controller to build the accounting function from the ground up in a PE-backed platform. The role requires delivering GAAP-compliant reporting, leading acquisition integration, and implementing the ERP/tech stack across entities.

You will own treasury, closing, controls, and lender reporting while partnering with the CFO to scale from first acquisition to substantial EBITDA. Remote with travel options in the Central/Mountain time zones.

Qualifications

12+ years of progressive accounting experience in a multi-entity environment.
Experience in PE-backed, acquisitive environments with post-close integration.
Proven technical accounting expertise (ASC 805, 606, 842) and treasury experience.
ERP implementation experience and system super-user capabilities.
Experience with lender covenant compliance and PE sponsor reporting.
Payroll, tax and multi-state compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

Own the monthly close across entities, improving timeliness and accuracy toward best-in-class benchmarks.
Maintain GAAP-compliant books with strong internal controls across growing entities.
Oversee daily accounting operations: AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, intercompany.
Coordinate audits and tax filings, ensuring audit readiness and tax compliance.
Evolve COA structure to support scalable, enterprise-wide reporting.
Lead purchase accounting workstreams for acquisitions and PPA where needed.
Own ERP onboarding and tech stack integration post-close across entities.
Manage debt covenants, reporting calendars, and lender communications.
Develop and mentor a high-performing accounting team and foster a culture of accountability.
