Job summary

Definiti LLC, a national retirement services company, seeks a seasoned Controller to lead core accounting operations in a fast-paced, acquisition‑driven environment. You will oversee the monthly close, audits, and tax, while developing the team and automating finance processes.

You will drive policy development, internal controls, and scalable finance practices, collaborating with senior leadership and external advisors. This fully remote role offers training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience.
• Experience managing monthly close and annual audits from planning through completion.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition, accrual accounting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills; Sage or similar system experience; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes per U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, and financial statements.
• Manage annual audit and tax return processes with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Provide hands-on accounting support in a lean environment.
• Lead and develop the accounting team to deliver timely, high-quality results.
• Support acquisition-related accounting and post-close integration activities.
• Develop scalable accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
