Job summary

Jefferson Solutions Group is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting under GAAP and FAR. The role oversees budgeting, revenue recognition on government contracts, and internal controls, with a focus on cost accounting for government contractors.

The position requires strong knowledge of DCAA/auditors and collaboration across departments. This is a fully remote opportunity with career growth in a dynamic, compliance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 10–15 years’ experience with 8+ years in a supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of federal government contracting (FAR/CAS).
• CPA or graduate degree is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting department operations and set goals.
• Provide hands-on direction to AP, Payroll, AR, Billing and GL.
• Manage monthly close and prepare financial statements.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls across contracts.
• Coordinate with IT on JAMIS ERP issues and upgrades.
• Collaborate with HR on onboarding, multi-state registrations, and tax matters.
• Support FP&A with annual budgeting, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Prepare and respond to external auditors and government audits.
