Job summary

AccountingDepartment.com, LLC is seeking a Senior Controller to lead virtual accounting teams and deliver outsourced controllership and advisory services for clients, including government contracting customers. You will manage budgets, forecasts, analytics, and KPI development, while maintaining GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

The role emphasizes strategic client partnership, quick decision-making, and risk reduction, with opportunities to shape policies, processes, and performance

Qualifications

• 10–15 years accounting experience with mix of public and private sector
• Government contracting experience with FAR, CAS, and DCAA familiarity
• Strong leadership and mentoring of virtual accounting staff
• Ability to analyze data and provide client-ready insights

Responsibilities

• Lead virtual accounting staff and ensure timely, accurate monthly financial reporting for multiple clients
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, analytics and KPIs; provide strategic recommendations
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies; ensure compliance with GAAP and contract requirements
• Coordinate audits and external tax information; support client strategy discussions
