Job summary

TRPlane.com is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee all accounting functions remotely, reporting to the VP of Finance as part of the Finance Department team. The role requires GAAP expertise, cost accounting, and strong process controls while ensuring compliance with FAR, CAS, and contractual terms.

The ideal candidate has five+ years in accounting, supervisory experience, and advanced Excel skills, with Unanet experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Cost accounting and federal/state experience.
• Experience with indirect cost rate submission, FAR, and CAS.
• Unanet experience is preferred.
• Advanced level experience with Excel.
• Minimum of three years accounting supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct activities of all accounting functions: AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, project accounting, purchasing, and cash management.
• Formulate and implement accounting policies in coordination with VP of Finance.
• Implements internal controls and documentation procedures.
• Perform and document period closing in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial statements and identify weaknesses; recommend remedial action.
• Participate in developing contract budgets.
• Ensure timely submittal of invoices and compliance with FAR/CAS.
• Provide counsel to management and modify financial programs as needed.
• Train management and staff on accounting policies.
• Stay informed on economic and regulatory trends and new accounting concepts.
• Participate in CQI/ISO activities and maintain systems and reporting tools.
