Job summary

Urrly, Inc. seeks an experienced accounting leader to own the full accounting cycle as a hands-on, department-of-one.

You will build the accounting function for a growing aerospace and defense software company, partnering with the CFO to stand up systems, controls, and reporting for rapid growth. You will oversee day-to-day operations, month-end close, audit readiness, and scalable processes across AR, AP, payroll, reporting, and contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred, but not required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with progressive close ownership.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and ASC 606 experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and monthly/annual close.
• Prepare timely financial statements and ad hoc reports for CFO, executives, board, and investors.
• Maintain GAAP compliance, including ASC 606 revenue recognition across contract types.
• Review contracts for proper revenue recognition and financial implications.
• Maintain a DCAA-compliant environment and support government contract compliance.
• Manage indirect rates, incurred cost submissions, contract billing, and related docs.
• Enable project-level financial tracking for leadership visibility into performance.
• Design, document, and implement core accounting processes and controls across AR, AP, payroll, and close calendar.
• Build interim reporting and reconciliation tools to keep close running smoothly during system changes.
• Lead ERP selection and implementation for government-contract-capable systems.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and maintain audit readiness.
• Support budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and variance analysis for CFO.
• Provide actionable financial insights to guide strategic planning and growth.
• Assist with M&A integration work as new capabilities or entities are added.
