Job summary

Trust & Will is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead accounting for the company and its subsidiaries. You will own month-end close, tax compliance, and AP/AR, while building scalable controls in a fast-growing environment.

Collaborating with the CFO and FP&A, you will implement AI-enabled workflows, optimize the accounting tech stack, and develop a high-performing team to drive data-driven decisions in a remote-first US startup.

Qualifications

• 10+ years accounting experience with 4–5 years in a Controller or leadership role in high-growth environments.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
• Hands-on automation/AI in accounting workflows.
• Experience designing internal controls for automated/AI processes.
• Proficient in Ramp, Rillet, Google Sheets & Excel.
• Familiar with startup/IPO regulatory environments.
• Experience managing and developing direct reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic and analytical mindset for business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting for Trust & Will and subsidiaries; manage month-end closing, tax, and AP/AR.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to scale operations.
• Lead audits and ensure accounting accuracy.
• Manage accounting tech stack and coordinate with FP&A.
• Analyze costs with CFO and FP&A to identify opportunities.
• Oversee vendor relationships and policy compliance.
