Job summary

Post University is seeking a Compliance & Contracts Attorney to serve as a legal advisor to institutional stakeholders, supervised by University Counsel. The role focuses on contracts, Title IX and ADA, intellectual property, privacy, technology matters, and other regulatory compliance for both in-person and online programs.

This position is fully remote with very limited travel and requires a Juris Doctorate from an accredited US law school, plus eligibility for house counsel status in

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited US law school.
• House counsel status eligibility in Connecticut.
• Strong critical thinking and excellent legal analysis skills.
• Interest in developing expertise in contract review and key contractual provisions.
• Ability to develop working knowledge of higher education laws and policies.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong drafting and negotiating skills.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, reviews, revises, and negotiates a variety of agreements including vendor and technology agreements, strategic partnerships and alliances, and agreements involving data privacy and security, international matters, and intellectual property
• Reviews outgoing group student communications to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and best practices
• Provides legal advice relating to ethical operations and compliance
• Assists with international compliance for our growing international student population
• Supports the legal and compliance groups with other matters involving privacy, GLBA, GDPR, NCAA, FERPA, TCPA, Title VI, and marketing to ensure University compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Performs legal research, drafts and develops resource material, and performs educational outreach within the institution on legal and regulatory issues
