Post University is seeking a Compliance & Contracts Attorney to serve as a legal advisor to institutional stakeholders under University Counsel. The role emphasizes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, data privacy, IT security, regulatory compliance, and student/employee matters for both in-person and online programs.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US law school.
• Admitted and in good standing in at least one state bar; Connecticut house counsel status required.
• At least two years of experience practicing as a lawyer.
• Experience in higher education is welcome, but not required.
• Strong critical thinking and excellent legal analysis skills.
• Interest in developing expertise in contract review and key provisions (copyright ownership, data privacy and protection, IT security, indemnification, insurance).
• Able to learn and stay updated with changing regulations/statutes related to University business.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, reviews, revises, and negotiates a variety of agreements including vendor and technology contracts.
• Reviews outgoing group student communications for regulatory compliance and best practices.
• Provides legal advice relating to ethical operations and compliance.
• Assists with international compliance for our growing international student population.
• Assists with intellectual property matters as requested.
• Performs legal research and develops resource material for educational outreach within the institution.
