Job summary

The Chicago Lighthouse is seeking a Contract Closeout Specialist I for a fully remote, United States-based role. The position involves post-award closeout, clerical tasks, and coordination with contracting officers to ensure proper closure of contracts and delivery orders.

Responsibilities include maintaining contract records, reconciling invoices, and preparing closeout documentation while following standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and federal contracting procedures is required.
• Completion of DAU acquisition class (CON 140) is required; other CON courses recommended.
• Working knowledge of MS Office software is required.
• Lived experience with blindness or low vision is strongly valued; experience using screen readers or assistive technologies is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Complete contract close out process as required by procedures and directed by site supervisor.
• Maintain 100% accountability of contract folders/documents throughout closeout.
• Determine if contract, invoices and payment records reconcile.
• Check government databases for receiving documentation.
• Contact vendors for invoice payment information as needed.
• Acquire written delivery history from manufacturers/contractors.
• Prepare DD1594 and closeout documents for review and approval.
• Scan documents as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
