Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist in Content Development (Science) to create and review K-12 assessment content and participate in item development for state and district clients across the United States.

You will work as an assessment expert, collaborating with education departments and partners to ensure standards-based, accessible content. This role involves AI-powered content enhancement and close cross-functional teamwork with psychometricians and Pearson groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent.
• Five years' experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Some experience in large-scale, educational measurement preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development, or readiness to leverage AI effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development and ensure accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Help select, manage, and train item/passage writers and educators.
