Pearson is seeking a Specialist – Science to contribute as a content and assessment expert to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients. Our team creates standards-based assessments nationwide, collaborating with educators and partners to ensure accessible learning.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted content development, item creation across grade levels, and close collaboration with psychometricians and test developers to deliver high-quality assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary education preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and educational trends.
• Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels.
• Develop item specifications, test blueprints, and related documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and quality.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in workflows.
• Select and train item writers to develop standards-based items.
• Support customer meetings with content assessment expertise.
• Contribute to test construction and review of forms.
• Consult with customers on planning and status reviews.
• Work with Pearson groups including psychometricians and test developers.
• Stay current with AI technologies in educational content creation.
