Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist to join the Content Development (Science) team as a content and assessment expert for K-12 assessments nationwide. The role combines content creation with AI-assisted development, item review, and collaboration with educators and psychometricians.

The position emphasizes standards-based content, accessibility, and the ability to work across multiple grade levels, with occasional travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher preferred.
• Knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends.
• Experience with AI-assisted content development or readiness to leverage AI.
• Familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Develop item specifications, test blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Use AI-powered tools to support content development and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, assign, and train writers and educators for item development.
• Support customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Contribute to test construction review and planning activities.
• Engage with customers as required and coordinate with Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies in educational content creation.
