Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist - Science (Physical Sciences) within Content Development to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients across the United States. The role combines content expertise with assessment development, leveraging AI tools to ensure accessibility and quality.

You will collaborate with educators, psychometricians, and other Pearson groups, manage writers, and participate in planning and customer meetings. Some travel is required in this dynamic role.

Qualifications

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to creatively and flexibly address challenges with diverse audiences.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or readiness to leverage AI.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.
• Demonstrated interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content quality and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, assign, manage, and train item/passage writers and educators.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning, status, and review meetings.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with AI technologies relevant to content creation and assessment.
• Travel as required.
