Job summary

Aon plc seeks an experienced Construction Claim Advocate to support construction clients on general liability claims, including job-site accidents and complex casualty matters. This remote role offers flexibility to work virtually or from an Aon office while focusing on coverage evaluations, risk transfer, and dispute resolution throughout the claims process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
• Willingness to obtain an active Property and Casualty license within four months of hire (90 days).
• Experience with construction general liability claims, job-site accidents, coverage analysis, risk transfer, and litigated construction claims.
• New York Labor Law experience (200, 240(1), 241(6)) preferred.
• Professional designations such as AIC, ARM, CPCU, CRIS, or SCLA beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for general contractors through the claim and dispute-resolution process.
• Evaluate liability, damages, coverage, and contractual risk-transfer opportunities.
• Coordinate with insurers, TPAs, and defense/coverage counsel.
• Analyze coverage provisions and priority of coverage to maximize recovery.
• Develop risk-transfer strategies with subcontractors and insurers.
• Support defense and completion operations claims and disputes.
• Manage New York Labor Law claims (200, 240(1), 241(6)).
• Oversee litigated claims and settlement posture.
• Review coverage positions, tenders, denials, pleadings, and reports.
• Communicate clearly and keep matters moving toward resolution.
• Identify claim trends for risk management and renewals.
