Job summary

Canto seeks an experienced Commercial Counsel to build and scale a modern in-house legal function for a fast-growing SaaS company. You will own end-to-end contracting, drive playbooks, templates, and AI-enabled workflows empowering Sales and Finance across US teams.

From day one, you will partner with Sales, Security, and executives to negotiate SaaS agreements, manage risk, and optimize cycle times while ensuring regulatory compliance across GDPR/CCPA frameworks.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of legal experience in SaaS or technology.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements.
• Working knowledge of data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, build processes in a scaling environment.

Responsibilities

• Own negotiation and execution of commercial SaaS agreements, including MSAs, DPAs, NDAs.
• Lead end-to-end contracting operations with a scalable, AI-enabled CLM system.
• Manage privacy and regulatory alignment across geographies.
• Lead the legal function and collaborate with Sales, Security, and Exec leadership.
