Canto is seeking its first in-house Commercial Counsel to build and scale a modern legal function focused on strategic commercial contracting and growth. Reporting to the CFO, you will design AI-enabled contracting processes, templates, and playbooks to speed deals and reduce friction across Sales, Finance, and leadership.

You will own end-to-end contracting operations for customers and vendors, guiding GDPR/CCPA compliance and partnering with Security, Product, and executives to navigate

Qualifikationen

• JD and active bar membership in good standing.
• 5–8 years of legal experience in SaaS or technology, in‑house or mix of law firm and in‑house.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, subscriptions, DPAs, NDAs).
• Working knowledge of GDPR/CCPA and related privacy regimes.
• Ability to build processes from scratch and scale a legal function in a growth company.

• Lead commercial contracting and sales enablement to accelerate deal velocity.
• Negotiate and execute SaaS agreements while maintaining risk within guardrails.
• Scale contracting operations with AI-enabled processes and CLM templates.
• Manage data privacy requirements and regulatory alignment across geographies.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, and executives; minimize escalations and reliance on outside counsel.
• Oversee vendor contracting, privacy, governance, and security collaborations.
