Job summary

Kemper is seeking a Commercial Casualty Adjuster – Represented to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate bodily injury and uninsured motorist claims with varying complexity. The role requires advanced claim handling skills, strong venue knowledge, and independent as well as team work capabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years casualty claim experience in auto insurance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.
• Must obtain and maintain state licensing where applicable.
• Initiative, judgement and discretion expected.

Responsibilities

• Investigate claims of varying complexity using policy language and guidelines.
• Develop strategies to resolve coverage, liability and property damage.
• Review policy provisions and endorsements to verify coverage and make decisions.
• Develop negotiation strategies for settlements with insureds, claimants and attorneys.
• Attend depositions, mediation, arbitration and trials as needed.
• Document claim progression and set bodily injury reserves.
• Mentor staff and provide training.
• Collaborate with departments to move claims toward final resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
