Job summary

optiBPO is seeking a remote Collections Officer to manage overdue accounts, reduce bad debt, and maintain positive customer relationships within a credit policy framework. This role serves clients across regions in an international credit control environment.

You will reconcile accounts in Excel, contact customers, escalate when needed, and assist with month-end reporting. Strong communication and multitasking are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with Pronto/MYOB is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to multi‑task, manage workload effectively, and meet tight deadlines with precision.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a high-volume collections role.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers regarding overdue invoices via email.
• Monitor and follow up outstanding debts to ensure prompt payment as directed.
• Escalate outstanding accounts in accordance with company policy to the Manager.
• Reconcile customer accounts and identify unapplied payments or credits using Excel reporting and prepare them for discussion.
• Recommend account holds, credit limit changes, or trading term amendments to Group Credit Controller.
• Assist with credit risk assessments and customer reviews.
• Respond to customer account enquiries professionally and promptly.
• Prepare aged debtor reports and collection updates as directed.
• Assist Group Credit Controller with month-end reporting and forecasted cash collections.
• Ensure all collection activity is documented within company systems and policies.
• Other duties as directed within the Credit Control environment.
