Job summary

optiBPO is seeking a Collections Officer for a remote US-based role. The position focuses on timely collection of outstanding customer accounts, reducing bad debt and ensuring adherence to credit policies.

You will contact customers, reconcile accounts, and prepare aged debtor reports while supporting month-end cash collections. Requires 3+ years in high-volume collections and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Pronto/MYOB is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to multi-task, manage workload and meet tight deadlines with precision.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high-volume collections role.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers regarding overdue invoices via email.
• Monitor and follow up outstanding debts to ensure prompt payment.
• Escalate outstanding accounts as per policy to the Manager.
• Reconcile customer accounts and identify unapplied payments or credits.
• Recommend credit actions to Group Credit Controller.
• Assist with credit risk assessments and customer reviews.
• Prepare aged debtor reports and collection updates.
• Support month-end reporting and forecasted cash collections.

Location / Shift Work From Home – Morning Shift
Job Overview The Collections Officer is responsible for the timely collection of outstanding customer accounts, minimising bad debt exposure, maintaining positive customer relationships, and ensuring adherence to company credit policies and procedures.
Key Task /Responsibilities

• Contact customers regarding overdue invoices via email.
• Monitor and follow up outstanding debts to ensure prompt payment as directed
• Escalate outstanding accounts in accordance with company policy to the Manager
• Reconcile customer accounts and identify unapplied payments or credits using Excel reporting and prepare them for discussion
• Recommend account holds, credit limit changes, or trading term amendments to Group Credit Controller
• Assist with credit risk assessments and customer reviews
• Respond to customer account enquiries professionally and promptly
• Prepare aged debtor reports and collection updates as directed
• Assist Group Credit Controller with month-end reporting and forecasted cash collections.
• Ensure all collection activity is documented within company systems and policies
• Other duties as directed within the Credit Control environment
