Job summary

Aptive Resources is hiring a coding supervisor to lead its remote coding team supporting Veterans Affairs medical centers across VISN 7. The role involves ensuring accurate, on-time coding across eight facilities with approximately 260,000 coded encounters per year.

You will be the main contact for VA HIMS staff, manage coder quality and productivity, and oversee staff training and reporting. Remote work from the US is available for this position.

Qualifications

• Active RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H credential.
• At least 3 years of coding experience with supervisory/QA experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, DRGs, E/M, and NCCI edits.
• Completion of an accredited coding/HIM program.
• Strong written and verbal communication for VA interactions.
• US citizenship and ability to pass a federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Act as main point of contact for VA HIMS supervisors and coding leads.
• Assign work to coders and track facility turnaround times.
• Conduct ongoing quality reviews of coded data and report results weekly.
• Write corrective action plans and coach coders on accuracy.
• Answer coder questions and escalate to VA contacts when needed.
• Manage re-reviews of records before billing and denials review.
• Prepare monthly progress and quarterly reports and kickoff materials.
• Train coders on VA policies, VHA guidelines, VistA and CPRS workflows; track VA training.
