Job summary

Aptive is seeking a Medical Coder to provide accurate inpatient, outpatient, and observation coding for the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center. Remote work is supported; the coder must maintain a 95% accuracy rate and follow VA guidelines (ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS) and applicable privacy rules.

Responsibilities include QA on all records, linking documents to veteran records in Cerner/Oracle, and meeting daily productivity targets.

Qualifications

• Active coding credential required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent).
• Prior VA or federal healthcare coding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of VA-specific coding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an overall coding accuracy of 95% across all record types.
• Code all diagnoses and procedures to the highest degree of specificity.
• Complete provider queries in a timely and compliant manner.
• Meet productivity standards for various service lines as listed in the posting.
