Job summary

Dutch Ridge Consulting Group is seeking a remote Medical Coder to support a federal client. The Medical Coder will code outpatient encounters, review documentation, and assign ICD/CPT/HCPCS codes in accordance with VA guidelines while entering data into the encoder and VA EHR systems.

Experience with VA policies, 95% accuracy target, and timely five-day turnarounds are required. A Tier 1/public trust clearance and recent VA experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Two years' outpatient coding experience required.
• Credentialed with AHIMA or AAPC.
• Proficient with ICD, CPT, HCPCS, E/M guidelines.
• Experience with VA policies and VHA encoder systems.
• Knowledge of privacy and security regulations.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient encounters including radiology, labs, and ancillaries.
• Review documentation and assign codes per ICD/CPT/HCPCS.
• Enter data into encoder and VA EHR systems.
• Maintain 95% accuracy and timely coding within five days.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports; ensure HIPAA compliance.
