Job summary

Aptive Resources is seeking remote outpatient coders to support VA medical centers across VISN 7. The position covers a 12-month base period with four 12-month options, paying $25.00–$30.00 per hour for qualified coders across the United States.

You will code clinic visits, outpatient procedures, and ancillary services using ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS Level II, ensuring accurate E/M determinations and adherence to coding guidelines. A private home workspace and secure internet are required.

Qualifications

• Active coding credentials listed above.
• Minimum 2 years outpatient coding experience including E/M and procedures.
• Completion of accredited coding/HIM program and anatomy/physiology training.
• Proficiency with CPT/HCPCS/NCCI edits and modifiers.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient encounters, including clinic visits, radiology, labs, and outpatient surgery.
• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnoses and CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Apply E/M levels and modifiers, review for billing accuracy.
• Ensure documentation supports codes and meet turnaround times.
