Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator for Professional Fee coding. You will audit, educate, and standardize coding practices across the organization, focusing on ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines. You will onboard staff and deliver ongoing education on Risk Adjustment and MEAT criteria.

The role requires extensive experience with professional fee coding rules, Medicare billing, and Epic systems, with strong organizational and analytical skills to drive compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years PB coder audits, education, and training.
• Five years coding professional fee records.
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P or RHIT/RHIA credentials per AHIMA/AAPC.
• Epic experience.
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and Medicare billing.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Excellent analytic ability to develop data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines to serve as a high-level SME for complex billing inquiries.
• Conduct systematic chart audits to identify documentation gaps and track trends against productivity and accuracy standards.
• Lead onboarding for new hires and provide education on Risk Adjustment, HCCs, and MEAT criteria to improve documentation quality.
• Develop and deploy training programs to keep coding teams current on evolving health plan requirements and regulatory changes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with coding teams to standardize practices and improve cross-department communication.
• Independently manage deadlines, present educational findings, and drive improvements in coding compliance.
