Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator for Professional Fee coding to support a nationwide team. You will audit, educate, and standardize coding practices across the organization, acting as a SME for complex billing inquiries.

You will onboard new staff, deliver ongoing education on Risk Adjustment, HCCs, and MEAT criteria, and stay current with evolving health plan requirements and regulatory changes. Strong communication and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS guidelines and regulatory billing rules.
• Experience with professional fee coding, audits, and education/training.
• Familiarity with Medicare billing rules and NCCI guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic chart audits to identify documentation gaps and ensure accuracy.
• Lead onboarding and ongoing education on Risk Adjustment, HCCs, and MEAT criteria.
• Develop and deploy training programs to keep coding teams current.
• Communicate regulatory updates to coding teams and ensure timely implementation.
• Partner with leadership to plan short- and long-term strategies for compliant coding.
