Job summary

The City of New York seeks a College Aide (All City Depts) to support the Code & Zoning Interpretation unit. You will assist with meetings, create technical material, and track progress on code development projects.

Position includes 17.5–18 hour weekly during school, with up to 35 hours when on break, and potential for remote work up to two days weekly under the Remote Work Pilot Program.

Qualifications

• Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
• For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with IT course of study, including 9 semester credits.
• For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at college with IT-related studies including 9 semester credits; appointments via Technology Steering Committee.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordinating code development meetings and follow up in a timely manner on matters requiring action.
• Assist with creating technical material for code committee review.
• Track code committee progress and maintain documentation for status reports.
• Coordinate training sessions for industry stakeholders, DOB staff and city-wide staff regarding code.
• Assist with creation and maintenance of databases, spreadsheets and tracking systems for code development.
• Draft meeting summaries and status reports for tracking; prepare documents for local law formatting.
• Perform research on national standards and codes of other jurisdictions.
• Schedule and attend inter-agency meetings and industry meetings.
