Job summary

SMX is seeking a Cloud Security Operations Analyst to support the Security Operations team managing customers' cloud-based infrastructures. The role includes guiding colleagues and clients in evaluating cyber risk and developing monitoring solutions to counter emerging threats.

You will monitor security events, tune sensors, implement endpoint security policies, and produce regular reports. A 4-year degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science and 2+ years of cloud security experience are

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and coordinate efforts in small working teams.
• Willingness to continually learn and enhance capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical audiences.
• Ability to collaborate with client stakeholders on security capabilities vs. threat actor techniques.
• Understanding of enterprise applications, infrastructure, and security technologies.
• Experience with security incident response and threat detection.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve system and network security monitoring capabilities.
• Monitor, triage, and notify clients of potential security incidents; tune sensors to reduce false positives.
• Implement endpoint security policies to meet defensive objectives.
• Support operational threat analysis using log correlation and endpoint tools.
• Contribute to contingency planning and incident response activities.
• Produce monthly/quarterly reports on monitoring and alerting.
