Job summary

UNOPS Barbados Country Office invites a mid-level Project Management Specialist to lead demand-driven technical assistance for climate-resilient infrastructure across Caribbean partners. The role requires a retainer contract with on-call deployment, including remote advisory work and occasional on-site field presence in the Caribbean.

Strong project delivery, governance, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field is required.
• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field is preferred.
• Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2 or PMP) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, complete and update the project implementation plan.
• Implement the approved plan within tolerances.
• Embed sustainability considerations into the project life span.
• Manage outputs, progress, and resource use with corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure quality of work packages meets defined requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of outputs.
• Monitor progress, risks, and changes; report to senior management.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement and ensure effective communications.
