Job summary

UNOPS Barbados Country Office seeks a Climate Mitigation Specialist for the RIISE Facility to deliver demand-driven technical assistance aimed at climate-resilient infrastructure across the Eastern Caribbean. The role is home-based with travel for on-site deployments across Caribbean countries and involves close collaboration with government counterparts and regional partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in energy planning/economics, engineering, climate change or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience in climate mitigation or infrastructure.
• Experience in climate mitigation within energy, transport, buildings sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide climate mitigation technical support for energy, transport and buildings projects.
• Guide processes to facilitate climate-resilient infrastructure development and activities.
• Provide technical guidance on project programming, management and partnerships.
• Offer technical expertise in support of ongoing infrastructure projects as needed.
• Ensure climate mitigation oversight on program design and stakeholder collaboration.
