Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of claims handling or customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Obtain required state licenses within 45 days (external) or 90 days (internal).

Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjudicates claims within designated authority.
• Verifies coverage, maintains reserves, and documents claim files.
• Negotiates and evaluates settlements; initiates payments per ERIE procedures.
• Responds to inquiries from policyholders, agents, claimants and others.
• Learns state liability laws and motor vehicle codes.
• Supports property claims during high-volume periods.
