Job summary

Counterpart is seeking a senior claims professional to join its Claims team in a fully remote environment in the United States. You will lead investigations into coverage, liability, and damages, manage claims for timely and cost-effective resolution, and collaborate with policyholders, brokers, and carrier partners.

The role requires strong communication and data-driven insights to improve processes. Required is a bachelor’s degree with a J.D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; law degree (J.D.) and professional designations highly preferred.
• Must possess state claim adjuster licenses or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete accurate investigations into the coverage, liability, and damages for each claim assigned.
• Actively manage each claim for timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Build and maintain relationships with policyholders, brokers, carrier partners, and risk engineers.
• Direct and monitor assignments to experts and outside counsel, and hold vendors accountable for service standards.
• Support data collection using Counterpart claim system to capture critical details.
• Identify and escalate insights into emerging claims trends across industries and geographies.
• Offer user-level feedback to improve claim handling processes and systems.
• Ensure all touchpoints with insureds and brokers reflect Counterpart’s brand and mission.
